It’s mid-September and many activities are in full swing….. either in classrooms, the gym or outside.

Meet the Teacher | September 26, 4:30 to 6:00 pm

This is an opportunity to meet your teachers face to face.  This is also the time to clarify components of the daily timetable such as Boost Block, RTI, etc.

Detailed information about the organization of the classroom will be shared with you visually in order to maximize “meet and greet” time with the teachers.  Remember this is not assessment sharing time.  Assessment and homework information is available to you through the D2L platform.  If you are having trouble accessing this information, please check in with your teacher about gaining access. 

Teachers will organize parents into two separate time blocks to ensure every parent has an opportunity to meet the teachers.  One block will be at 4:30 and another block at 5:15.  The format will be drop-in during your 45 minute session.  Please encourage your child to accompany you to this event so they can introduce you to their teachers.

Personal Mobile Device Policy

Students and parents, Thank you for your support of this new policy. We wanted to add some clarification for the policy at Twelve Mile Coulee School.  Cell phones are not visible as students enter the school in the morning.  Entrance to the school means students are preparing themselves as learners to start their day.  Students have been excellent about adhering to this guideline.

There is still confusion about the use of cell phones at the end of the day.  In an attempt to create a guideline that is clear but not interfering with the end of classes, our policy will read that phones can be used after 3:15 on school property. That will include inside or outside of the school.  Let’s try this out!!  If it is still confusing we will revisit this guideline.

Updating Demographic Information – Due Sept 20

You will have received an email from CBE regarding updating your child’s demographic information. All parents must review, complete or update their child’s forms through MyCBE by clicking on the School Engage tab.

Truth & Reconciliation

Next week September 23-26 will be dedicated to National Day for Truth and Reconciliation which occurs on September 30. We will be celebrating Orange Shirt Day on September 26 and all students and staff are encouraged to wear orange on that day to show our support.
