School Supplies

Grade 6 (Kindergarten to Grade 6)

CBE charges a flat rate for school supplies to enable each student to have the same, high-quality materials available to them for learning for the entire year. Because we are buying for so many students, the CBE can bulk-purchase these supplies at a significant discount and pass the savings on to families. Student supplies are the same supplies that each individual family is responsible for purchasing in other jurisdictions.

Grade 7

Students will be expected to provide their own supplies for the year. Please put your name on your supplies and items so they can be returned to you if they are misplaced. You may be asked to refill supplies throughout the year, as needed.

General Recommended Supplies

  • 2  2” binders or 1 Large zip up binder (big enough for all four subjects)
  • Lined paper
  • Pencils
  • Erasers
  • Black or Blue Pens
  • 4 dry erase markers
  • 1 12pack of pencil crayons
  • 2 glue sticks
  • Pencil case
  • 2 black sharpies - fine tip
  • 4 Highlighters (four different colours)
  • Pencil sharpener
  • 8  8.5 x 11 (full sized paper) exercise books (hole punched, stapled preferred over coiled)
  • 30 cm metric ruler that has holes so it can be stored in your binder.
  • 3 duo-tangs (please ensure you have red, green and blue)
  • Scissors
  • Package of notebook of 1/4" (4:1) graph paper
  • Scientific Calculator (does not need to be a graphing calculator)-Please note cellphones or smart watches are not permitted as calculators.
  • Good quality geometry kit (must contain a compass for drawing circles)
  • 1 package of index cards

Optional Recommended Supplies

  • Coloured sharpies
  • An agenda/calendar for tracking due dates (for those who prefer paper to digital)
  • A water bottle
  • A drawing book that can be your visual journal
  • Scotch tape
  • Wired earbud headphones in a case (for use with school computers and to stay at school)

Grade 8

All Subjects

  • 8 Scribblers or notebooks (size 8.5X11, 80 pages)
  • 1 Pencil case
  • 1 Box of Pencils / Mechanical pencils and extra lead 
  • 1-3 Erasers

  • 3 Pens
  • 3 Fine liners or sharpies
  • 1 Whiteout
  • 1 Highlighters (4 pack)

  • 1 Pack - Felt Markers
  • 2 or 1 2-inch binders OR 1 large zip binder to account for 4 core subjects
  • 10 Binder dividers

Humanities

  • 1-2 packs Lined paper

Grade 9

*Note: Outside of CTF Art courses, there are no art supplies provided. Supplies like paints, watercolours, pastels, paper, hot glue sticks/glue guns, cardstock etc… will need to be provided from home on an as-needed basis for classroom projects
