TMC Weekly Message - October 29, 2025

Good Afternoon TMC Parents/Guardians,

I am sending my weekly community email early this week (rather than Friday Afternoon), as I wanted to provide some updates now that teachers have returned to work following the recent Labor Action. There are still details of our return that are up in the air, and I will provide updates as I receive them. For example, I am not sure if there will be changes to the school calendar. As per the email from the CBE that parents received this week teachers will be focused primarily on teaching and learning in classrooms. Activities and events such as athletics, performances, field trips, extracurriculars, school council meetings and other school events may be delayed, rescheduled or cancelled. Updates:

· Athletics may begin with practices the week of November 3-7. A determination on the continuation of the league/season will be forthcoming. An email will be sent out separately later this week with more details from specific coaches.

· The decision has been made to cancel the upcoming Band Camp, so that students are not missing more class. Mrs. Thornburough will be sending out an email with more details.

· Staffing Updates: Due to unforeseen circumstances some of our staff cannot return to work following the labor action. We will endeavor to ensure that their position is filled with the same individual if possible.

o Mr. Koch- this position will be a longer absence, and I will be hiring a temp. teacher as soon as possible.

This Friday is Halloween, although we will have no formal Halloween activities happening, we encourage students to dress up. Please remember that costumes should be appropriate for school settings. Students should not bring any accessory that looks like a “realistic” weapon, it will be confiscated. If students are wearing a mask and their teacher asks them to take it off during class, they will need to take it off.
