TMC Parents and Guardians,

This week we honored the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, through activities in the students’ classes, learning about Indigenous history, stories, and dances during PE on Monday and wearing Orange Shirts on Tuesday. We will continue to engage in this work throughout the year. Throughout the month of September students also raised funds for the Terry Fox run, TMC raised $3125.35, thank you to all those that contributed. The month of September has flown by at the school and many activities are taking place. Students are likely finishing units and will have upcoming assessments, please stay in contact with your teachers through email if you have any questions. In addition, take the time to look through your students online learning platform (D2L) to see what they are covering.

Have a great weekend.

Chad Flaman

Message from School Council

Hello TMC Families,

We urgently need your help.

Our TMC Fundraising Casino is happening NEXT WEEK, Tuesday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 7, and we still have critical volunteer shifts that need to be filled.

Without enough volunteers, we risk losing our casino and the more than $80,000 it typically raises for our school.

This funding makes a huge difference for the TMC community. In the past, casino funds have helped pay for new sports uniforms, field trips, in-class programs, teacher & classroom and art supplies, novel study collection, technology, foods room, construction and gym equipment, weight room equipment, theatre lights, projectors, Grade 9 Farewell, and so much more.

You do not have to be a TMC parent to volunteer. We are asking you to please reach beyond our school community. Please ask your extended family, friends, neighbors and community members if they can help. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and family friends are all welcome!

No experience is needed. The shifts are easy and fun, and volunteers receive a delicious meal during their shift.

Please sign up today. Every remaining shift needs to be filled.
