Though the weather outside is frightful, inside Twelve Mile Coulee things are truly delightful!
We’re happy to report that conferences are winding down, and we hope that everyone now has a clearer understanding of their child’s progress and achievements in various subjects. If you missed your scheduled conference or couldn’t find a time, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher, who will be happy to arrange another time to meet.
A big thank you to our School Council for gathering donations and organizing a wonderful dinner and breakfast during conferences. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
Grade 7 Military Museum Visit
The Grade 7 students have wrapped up their learning experience at the Military Museum. It was an incredibly enriching visit, and we encourage you to check it out if you haven’t yet had the chance—it's a fascinating glimpse into our history!
Jr. Girls’ Basketball Team – Champions!
The excitement of the week was the Jr. Girls’ basketball team winning their division final! It was a nail-biting game, but the team held strong and made some amazing shots to claim victory. A huge thank you to Mr. Everaert for his incredible coaching. The girls really flourished under your guidance!
Communication Updates
At Twelve Mile Coulee, we are working hard to improve communication between school and home. Here’s a quick rundown of where you can find important updates:
· Classroom Communication: Teachers will continue to send updates via D2L or emails home to keep you informed about classroom activities.
· School Website: Ms. Sexton does an excellent job keeping our school website up to date with relevant information, including details about sports programs and other school happenings.
· Weekly Updates: Our office sends out regular emails with updates on what’s been happening around the school, along with reminders and a look ahead at upcoming events.
Cell Phone Use Reminder
We’ve noticed an increase in inappropriate cell phone use in the past few weeks. Please remind your children about our school’s cell phone policy, which can be found on our website:
Student Personal Mobile Devices Policy
To reiterate the expectations: Cell phones should be kept in students’ lockers during the school day. If a student is caught using a phone inappropriately, it will be confiscated, and parents will be notified. If the issue persists, parents will be required to pick up the phone directly from the school.
Donations
Classrooms have started collecting for the Christmas Hampers. Watch for more information in the next couple of days.
We are still taking in hats and mittens that are new or gently used for a local elementary school in need. These can be dropped off at the office.
Volunteers Needed
We are looking for volunteers to help with a few tasks:
· Sewing: If you’re able to sew a straight line, we need help repairing science smocks. Some of the ties have come loose, and a quick stitch will do the trick.
· Library Help: If you’re familiar with the Dewey Decimal system, our library could use help with reshelving books. With so many avid readers, books are constantly coming and going!
If you’re able to lend a hand with either of these tasks, please email the school, and we’ll connect you with the right person.

· December 19: Titan Lunch – A&W
· December 20: Last day of classes before Winter Break
· January 6: Classes resume
