TMC Weekly Message May 9, 2025

TMC Parents and Guardians,

This week at our School Council meeting as part of my general updates, I also provided an update to School Council about the installation of exterior and interior security cameras. These cameras will help increase the security within and outside the building and will be placed so that they also maintain the privacy of our students and teachers. The cameras will not be placed in classrooms or washrooms, they will be placed on the exterior of the building focused on school property and not the property of our neighbors and inside the school the cameras will be in the general areas of the building, such as hallways and stairwells. I will let the school community know when the installation process begins. On the CBE website (https://www.cbe.ab.ca/about-us/policies-and-regulations/Pages/Administrative-Regulations.aspx) AR 1066 outlines CBE policy that governs video surveillance.

Staffing update: Mrs. Croswell’s leave has been extended until the end of the year. Mrs. Kuzmicz will continue to teach her classes until the end of the year. Fundraising Opportunities

The grade 8 sailing students are selling rain barrels as part of their fundraising. You can order yours at www.rainbarrel.ca/tmcseatrip. The city is offering a $50 rebate but there is a limited number of rebates offered. The sooner you order the better your chances.

A reminder about our fundraiser for the Alberta Children's Hospital - The Summit Mental Health Facility for children and youth. The website for families to donate (by class, under "members") is: https://my.childrenshospital.ab.ca/team/634355

This fundraiser will run until the second week of May (Hats On for Mental Health).

Badminton Season Updates: The season will be wrapping next week, and the PE team is getting ready for Track and Field Season. The Track and Field meet will be on June 10.
