TMC Weekly Message - May 1, 2026 - Twelve Mile Coulee School

Good afternoon TMC Parents/Guardians,

It is finally the month of May, April went by extremely fast in the school and we are in the homestretch of the school year. Many of our classes will be starting their final units in the coming weeks, Grade 6 and 9 classes will be getting prepared to write PATs and in Athletics we will be wrapping up our Badminton season and preparing for the Track and Field meet. Typically, during this time of the year we see students hit the proverbial wall with peer relationships, classroom dynamics, schoolwork, and other external stressors. Support your student by encouraging them that the school year is coming to a close, that May/June will usually fly by and the summer break will be here in no time, however if you need additional support please reach out to the classroom teacher and we will do our best to minimize the external stressors that are within our sphere of influence. Beginning next week, we will be asking all students to go outside for the second half of the lunch break like what we did in the fall, of course if we have an adverse weather event, we will allow students to stay inside.

Staffing Update: Returning next week will be Ms. Thornborough to our Music program and Ms. Lowe to our grade 6 team. We thank Ms. Lee and Ms. Bell for supporting those classes while the teachers were away. Ms. Violini will be away for a short time longer; her classes will be covered by Ms. Bell and Ms. Dickie until she returns.
