23-10-16 TMC Announcements | Jacket Racket, Blanket Drive, Non-Instruction Day
Dear TMC Titan Students, Parents and Guardians,
There is so much going on at TMC right now, including a ton of Basketball (both of our senior teams, the girls team and the boys team, won the WD Pratt Maverick Madness Tournaments on the weekend) and Soccer, as well as other clubs such as the Math Challenge Club, the Razzle Dazzle Club, the TMC Show Choir, the TMC GSA, a Food Bank Drive for the Calgary Food Bank, and tons of stuff coming from our Leadership Options classes.
Jacket Racket 2023!
The TMC Jacket Racket campaign at TMC will once again run through the months of October 10 and through until Friday November 1. I know and hope that cold weather is still a ways off, but before you get rid of winter clothes that are too small for your growing children...
Jacket Racket accepts in toddler to teen winter jackets, snow pants, hats, mittens and fleece jackets. These donations will be distributed to schools where there is a need. Having worked in schools that have a great need for these items, I can tell you how important this all is!
We kindly ask that donations that are collected be clean, and in good condition.
We will once again have boxes in the main vestibule (room just before coming into the office) for drop off.
Thanks so much for your support!

Blanket Drive for Refugee Families!
You may or may not know that the city of Calgary has become home to many Ukrainian evacuees. These people have had to flee Ukraine due to the war and most often leave their country with little to no belongings. When they arrive in Calgary, they often have nothing. Aaron and Mallory (two TMC students in grades 8 and 5) and their family have become involved with helping these Ukrainian evacuees learn English when they arrive in Canada. As you might imagine, this involves the gathering and distributing of A LOT of donations. As the cold weather approaches, Aaron and Mallory's family is collecting blankets for their Ukrainian friends. If you have a gently used blanket at home that you would be willing to donate, please bring it to school by November 10 and drop it off in the designated area in the foyer outside of the school's main office. Aaron and Mallory and family have found a tremendous amount of joy in serving those in need in our city. Your donation of a warm blanket will be distributed to someone in great need, who will be so grateful for your thoughtful gift to them. Thank you!!
(and from me personally, THANKS so much for helping others and demonstrating KINDNESS! ~Mr. R )
